MIA Members’ invitation to Formula Student from the IMechE

10:30am - 4.00pm, Silverstone Circuit

THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED

Formula Student has generously offered MIA Members the opportunity to visit Silverstone and experience first-hand the competition where over 90 universities and 2000 students from the UK and around the world strive to be the 2009 champions.  You will be invited with other VIP Guests to enjoy the day and will be based in the BRDC Clubhouse as guests of the organisers.

Other guests include; Chief Judge, Jon Hilton of Flybrid Systems, John Wood, FS Chairman, and IMechE Vice President, Rt Hon Lord Drayson (Minister of State for Science & Innovation), Phil Willis MP (Chairman of House of Commons Innovation Universities & Skills Committee) and senior IMechE representatives.

Formula Student is run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), in partnership with industry. The teams form the next generation of engineers and represent 23 different countries. The students are challenged to design, build, develop, market and compete as a team with a small single-seater racing car.

In addition to the live dynamic events, you will have the opportunity to tour the garages, where the teams will be working, and view all the action from the Clubhouse where refreshments and buffet lunch will be provided.
