The MIA, H. W. Wood Limited and Abbey Business Centres Limited, have organised a very privileged opportunity to attend a networking event inside the iconic Swiss Re Building, aka “The Gherkin”. Access to this building is not normally available to the public.

The Swiss Re building, built on the site of the “old” Baltic Exchange is one of the most recognisable buildings in Britain and possibly the world.  No cityscape of London is complete without the now familiar shape, which is universally known as “The Gherkin”.

Our hosts H. W. Wood Limited - www.hwint.com, enjoy Lloyd's status and are one of the few remaining independent international insurance brokers. H. W. Wood Limited has many years experience of placing insurance programmes for the motorsport and automotive industries and is hosting this new event exclusively for fellow MIA members.

PLUS - H. W. Wood Limited has reserved 10 places for members to visit Lloyds of London before the main event*. This uniquely British institution, built in 1986 is certainly just as distinctive as the Gherkin and offers an extra opportunity to gain a fantastic insight during your visit.

                            for a private tour of Lloyd's of London

Gherkin Event

• 5:30pm               Meet at H. W. Wood Limited, The Baltic Exchange, 38 St. Mary Axe

• 6:00pm               We all depart to -“The Gherkin” Swiss Re Building - 28th Floor
                            (please note the building operates high level security, and members will be 
                            accompanied in small groups)

                                    Arrival and Welcome from Guy Cliffin, Managing Director at H. W. Wood Limited

                                    Short business update from Chris Aylett, MIA CEO
