MIA Business Networking Tour at Rolls Royce Heritage Centre
Business Networking Tour at Rolls Royce Heritage Centre
Tuesday 26 April 2016
14:30 - 20:00
Light Alloy Foundry Site, Rolls Royce, Derby
Join the MIA on a tour of the aviation history of Rolls Royce
Rolls Royce Light Alloy Foundry site is home to one of the largest collections of aero engines in the country, ranging from World War One era piston engines, the famous Merlin, through to modern day jet engines. The collection also includes examples from Rolls-Royce's full product range including marine and industrial applications.
There are a small number of vintage cars, some of which date back to the early days of Rolls-Royce and the start of the motor car era. There are also examples of engines and motor cars from distinguished names such as Armstrong Siddeley and Napier, whose companies became part of the Rolls-Royce group in their latter years.
Join the MIA for light refreshments at The Oasthouse, a local pub, followed by a guided tour of the Rolls Royce collection and Heritage Trust workshop. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the history of a Great British marque.
