Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting - Request for Commercial Announcements

23 Mar 2018

The MIA have been advised by the Department for International Trade (DIT) that Government Officials will be visiting the UK in the coming weeks for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

In support of this summit they are collating a package of commercial announcements between the UK and Commonwealth member countries, e.g. contract signings and investment announcements. As such, they are keen to engage with you if you are likely to have any commercial announcements connected to these markets – which are not already in the public domain and can be announced by Senior Government Officials.

Please complete the below table and return to Carl Bruce (carl.bruce@trade.gov.uk) by Friday 30th March at 12:00.

On receipt, the team will be in touch to discuss further. No assurances can be given from the outset that deals will form part of the package of announcements for the visit.

Announcement:

Please state what the announcement is including relevant background (no more than 2-3 short paragraphs).

To reiterate, announcements need to be new and not already in the public domain.

Has the contract/MoU already been signed? What are the timescales associated?

Contract or MoU value:

State in UK GBP

UK jobs:

Will the announcement lead to the creation of permanent or temporary and/or safeguard jobs in the UK? If so, how many?

UK region:

Is there a specific UK region which will benefit from this announcement?

Are you already in touch with someone from the Department for International Trade or the British Embassy Riyadh? If so, please state who.

If you have any questions or want to discuss further, please get in touch with Carl Bruce at the Department for International Trade by email (carl.bruce@trade.gov.uk).
