Will this course help me get a job in motorsport?
This course has been created to respond to Motorsport employers‘ shortage of skilled staff and has been designed with their help. Our tutors are experienced professionals currently working in racing teams, you will be learning techniques and strategies that racing teams are currently using. By completing this course, you will be perfectly equipped for getting a job as a Race Engineer in the UK and abroad.
Do I have to partake in both parts of the school or can I choose to do either course A or course B?
It is advised to partake in all aspects of the course to gain maximum results from the course. If you are unable to attend both parts of the course due to other commitments, you are able to only join part A of the course prior to completing part B.
How old do I have to be to take this course?
18 or over.
What qualifications do I need to take this course?
This course is an intensive two weekend course. It is an excellent way of specialising in motorsport if you already have an engineering degree. You will need to show experience and knowhow of engineering principles to attend the course if your qualifications are limited.
Can I get college/university credit for this course?
No, this course is recognised by the Motorsport Industry but is not accredited as a college/university course.
Do I need any special equipment or books for the course?
No, all equipment required will be provided.
What days does the courses run on?
Saturday and Sunday
What is the timing of the course?
9.00am – 17.00pm
Can you help me find accommodation for the duration of the course?
We can send you a list of potential accommodation. We have secured discounts for our students at some of them.
Do I have to pay for the course in full when I register?
You can pay in full upon registration, or you pay a deposit and pay off the rest at a later date. For further details on payment plans available, please get in touch. All payments must be made prior to the start of the course.
Is there funding available for the course?
Not directly from the MIA. However you may be able to apply for a Development Award from the Princes Trust https://www.princes-trust.org.uk/help-for-young-people/get-funding-train-learn - We are continuously searching for funding streams which may be of assistance to you. Please keep in touch and we will share further information if found.
Will this be an annual programme?
Is there pay like an apprenticeship during the course?
