Will this course help me get a job in motorsport?
This course has been created to respond to Motorsport employers‘ shortage of skilled staff and has been designed with their help. Because our tutors are experienced professionals currently working in racing teams, you will be learning techniques and strategies that racing teams are currently using. By completing this course, you will be perfectly equipped for getting a job as a Race Mechanic in the UK and abroad. 

Can I get work experience with this course?
At least FIVE of the best students will be offered a three to six month work placement at a racing team following the course.

If I am one of the lucky five to be offered a work placement, will that start with immediate effect?
It is very likely you will be required to start a few short weeks after completion of the course. The teams will need your help straight away to prepare for the start of the season.

How old do I have to be to take this course? 
18 or over.

What qualifications do I need to take this course?
No qualifications are necessary but you will need to show experience and knowhow of mechanic principles to attend the course if your qualifications are limited.

Can I get college/university credit for this course? 
No, this course is recognised by the Motorsport Industry but is not accredited as a college/university course.

Do I need any special equipment or books for the course?
No, all equipment required will be provided.

What are the timings of the days?

09:00 – 17:00 (includes a sandwich lunch)

Can you help me find accommodation for the duration of the course? 
We can send you a list of potential accommodation. We have secured discounts for our students at some of them. 

Do I have to pay for the course in full when I register? 
You can pay in full upon registration, or you pay a deposit and pay off the rest at a later date. For further details on payment plans available, please get in touch. All payments must be made prior to the start of the course.

Is there funding available for the course?
Not directly from the MIA. However you may be able to apply for a Development Award from the Prince's Trust
