MIA  MOTORSPORT INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION

F1 joins the MIA to strengthen ties with UK and global motorsport suppliers

14 Aug 2019

Formula One, the world’s leading race series, is the latest recruit of the growing international business community of the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA). Support from, and alliances with, key race series is an essential element of the MIA’s valuable work on behalf of its corporate members and no series is more technically significant than F1.
In the 25th Anniversary year, the MIA has within its membership Formula One, NASCAR, World Rally Cross, Formula E, W Series and BTCC with others soon to join. As members, these vital organisations will build networks of mutually beneficial relationships and gain hands-on access to key suppliers and innovators from across the entire motorsport and high-performance engineering community.
Pat Symonds, CTO Motorsport Division at Formula 1 commented:
We are part of this industry, arguably at the top of the tree, so it’s very important for us to engage with the supply chain. The MIA is the perfect vehicle to allow us to do this. As we move into a new generation of Formula One, when we’ll have standard supply components and more regulation, I think it’s very important for us to closely engage with the supply chain.
Chris Aylett, CEO of the Motorsport Industry Association commented:
To have both the world’s leading race series, F1 and NASCAR, in MIA membership demonstrates the strength of our trade association within its 25th anniversary year! Our members will benefit from closer communication and collaboration with series owners to help them find cost-effective technical and delivery improvements to their series. We look forward to helping the F1 Group achieve their exciting plans for future motorsport.
Motorsport is good for your business! The MIA is enjoying a record year for new membership recruitment from SMEs to majors; in this period of business uncertainty close links to the business community of your sector is proving essential. All kinds of business advice, support and guidance is provided, please see www.the-mia.com.
