MIA Business Networking Forum and Tour of
Old Warden Aerodrome, Nr Biggleswade, Bedfordshire
Tuesday 21 May 2019
Increase your business contacts, discuss industry
updates and tour the Shuttleworth Collection - where history flies and drives!
The Shuttleworth Collection opened to the public in 1963, with further aircraft and vehicles added over the years. Situated on one of the few remaining all-grass aerodromes left in use in the world, the Collection now boasts over 50 airplanes - most of which are still able to fly, taking part in regular displays throughout the year.
An engineer's dream - the Collection brings to life the magic of aviation from the oldest flying aircraft in the world through aviation history. Additionally, the Workshop Hanger, part of the experience, has various aircraft in different stages of restoration which can be viewed as part of our guided tour.
MIA Members and industry guests are invited to join us for an afternoon of relaxed networking, light refreshments and an exceptional guided tour of the entire Shuttleworth Collection including:
- Vintage aircraft: 1909-1950s
- Veteran Vehicles: Edwardian cars, early dogcarts, commercials including buses, and 1930s-1940s cars
- Classic Motorcycles: including a rare 1904 Aurora
- Veteran bicycles: including a penny farthings and a boneshaker
- Agricultural exhibits: Steam engine, working Chaff Cutter, living van and tractors
