18 Jul 2018
Last night at our annual MIA Summer Reception at the House of Lords, the 'Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Motorsport Industry' was presented to Martin Brundle by Richard Harrington MP, Minister for Business and Industry.
The Award is the highest personal accolade bestowed by the MIA and recognises the recipient's outstanding contribution to the motorsport industry, as voted for by MIA members.
Looking at his achievements over the years, it's no small wonder that MIA members nominated Martin. With 2 highly successful careers - both on and off the track - he has raced in 158 Formula One Grands Prix; been World Sportscar Champion and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Jaguar. He was also Chairman of the BRDC and is now Chair of the GP Trust.
His broadcasting career is equally successful with 4 BAFTAs and 7 Royal Television Society Awards and as Chris mentioned during his speech, 'A consummate broadcaster and a great Ambassador for the UK motorsport industry."
