Weekend of racing success for second generation Continental GT3

04 Jun 2019

The new Bentley Continental GT3 enjoyed another successful weekend of racing in the US and UK, as it secured an impressive five podiums, including one outright victory, in four races at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park and Snetterton.

K-PAX Racing’s two Bentley Continental GT3s finished on the podium in both rounds five and six of the Blancpain GT World Challenge America, in Ontario, Canada, helping to maintain the team’s lead at the top of the 2019 standings.

The blistering pace of the second generation Continental GT3 was on show from the outset, with the #9, driven by Álvaro Parente (POR) and Bentley Boy Andy Soucek (ESP), finishing second from sixth on the grid. Close behind in third was the #3, piloted by Rodrigo Baptista (BR) and Maxime Soulet (BE).

Race two saw the #9 go one better, converting a fourth Pole Position of the season into a race victory and setting the fastest lap on the way. The #3 matched its race one result, coming home in a comfortable third position over 40 seconds ahead of the closest challenger.

Elsewhere, another Continental GT3 run by Team Parker Racing saw success in the British GT Championship at Snetterton, with drivers Ryan Ratcliffe and Glynn Geddie delivering a strong performance to finish second in the opening race of the weekend.

Brian Gush, Bentley’s Director of Motorsport, commented: “Once again, our customer teams are reaping the rewards of the work carried out by our development team.”
